MINI WHEEL SEARCH

Hi there minis...I wonder if anyone in Brunei have this exact wheels to sell,I only need a pair...thats because I already have a pair. The pair which I own came with the car which I bought quite a while back. It came with a unique set of wheels (obviously since it has 4 wheels in total as do most cars!!). It has a pair of the same set but the other 2 comprises of the most butt- ugly wheels ever....and they don't even match with one another. Hahahaha..I suppose that comes with the terriory of buying a classic mini in Brunei- you just haveto make do with what you can find.....finding a perfect specimen of a car would be almost impossible.

Now back to the above wheels. These wheels are called cosmic wheels and I need another 2 of these wheels to make a complete set for my bro in-law's classic sports project. So to anyone out there who might have these wheels rusting somewhere in their garage or garden (check what your potted plants are standing on) please please please make me an offer if you have it. Greetings my mini people,remember my half done project?in my older post about my half done project,i wrote about the completion of the exterior of my Rover Mini Cooper lookalike project with the unfinished interior,well...now im on my way on completing the interior.Just to update that long awaiting unfinish project I now have completed the floor by doing the carpeting myself.I've been all around enquiring prices for carpeting and most of them were asking around B$200-B$300 for it,and honestly i think its a bit too much for a small car,and i have seen the original product in UK which cost alot cheaper than that.After doing some studies on my other mini's carpet,i am confident that i can pull it on myself.I know its one of the simplest thing to do especially,coz im a diy freak,so i started looking for carpet with the rite texture,thanks to my sister who knows this place in Serusop that sells carpet by metre,and luck was on my side that day when i found the rite colour and material.

As you can see the above picture i took the night before,when the floor was still bare metal,seriously i hate looking at it,so I bought about two meters of carpet which by the way only cost me B$20 something,not bad huh rather than paying B$300 for it.After two hours of measuring,cutting and tweaking its finally done,and I think I have done a very good job if I may say so myself....hahahahah.

The above pictures are the finished product of my good hands...hahahaha,its not the best but its okay for a non professional carpeteer...just need some cleaning.Now its carpeted its time to think of new upholsteries,which is the most important thing.Hopefully this whole interior thing will be done before my holiday ends.

Firstly i would like to congratulate my brother inlaw WARDI SYAMIM for completing his mission of finding and owning his own mini.It took him 3 weeks to complete this mission,and with me being here in Brunei helps alot,and yes Im back here in Brunei for a good 3weeks holiday.I found him this mini on my second day of my "holiday" here.Ok now enough about me,let me tell you what i know about this mini.I dont really know the history of this mini,but this is what i can tell so far,and this is just by looking at it.Its a 1979 mini clubman,1000cc manual engine,10 inch wide wheels and tyres,very fast and not forgetting its colour combinations yellow,black and white,patriotism in him maybe,hehehehe...Engine wise its in very good condition,but looks....hmmm....not to my standard yet...hahaha...jan marah wang...hahahaha.Wardi's next mission is to refine the look of his mini...hehehe.Im sure with my help it will be easy. The first thing to do is to convert it from clubman to a proper roundnose mini.Since he lives in australia it shouldnt be a problem for him to look for parts.I will make sure to update you guys later on.the Best thing about this mini is it comes equipped with airconditiong.So wards you now have something to really look foward to kalau balik Brunei.Anyway congratz again bro...

Hello mini people,i was reading one of my magazines few days ago and i came across this cartoon thingy,in that article i was reading,they explained how minis have diffrent structure for its front and back,the front bit of a mini has its own structure itself,its also as strong as the back bit on its own...where all this while i thought its not safe to botch two cars into one,but apparently it is safe for minis,pheeewww....If u read my older post about my green mini,you will know why am I so excited about this.My green mini got involved in an acciedent a long time ago,it wasnt me who was driving it offcourse,and the whole front was badly damaged,and that destroyed the engine aswell,i was so dissappointed when i heard the news,but still dreaming of having that car fix, till one day thanks to my cool uncle Mus,he came up with this idea of buying half cut which is obviously the front half and weld it together,and wala...my green 'mini is born' again.

Since we know that it is safe to do this knd of surgery to our mini,its easynow to go for a quick fix,hahahaha...well i think im finished tonight with my knowledge sharing,until next time...cheerio

I found this cool interior for mini on ebay last week,but the bid starts quite high,this seats are from 95 models onwards,how i wish its easily available in Brunei,I ve been looking for interior for my white cooper in Brunei which is at a reasonable price,so if anyone in Brunei have a similar front seats it doesnt have to be the same material,as long as its the same shape,please please please let me have it,by that I mean sell it to me please,give me price ill hag later...anyway all you mini owners in Brunei please contact me if you have it....

MINI FAN VISITS

Once upon a time there were these two lads who knew nothing about car. One day, I came along and introduced them to the little thing called MINI. Well to cut crap and go straight to the point here,both these dudes came to UK for a couple of week to visit my wife and I as well as pay homage to my mini and play a few rounds of golf. One of them also came with the hope of seeing snow....These 2 dudes is my brother inlaw WARDI SYAMIM and his best mate YUSUF a.k.a. chup a.k.a. ASMA MOHAMMAD FARIZUL AMIN...pheww long name...,these two do not own a mini as yet but they intend to start their own mission to find one for each once they're back home to brunei. WARDI studies in Australia, and I reckon it would be easy for him to find parts for minis. Both of them, however, will need guidance from me in building one. So lads, once you get your mini, you know who to call....and I promise I'll help you two make your dreams come true (dreams relating your mini obviously). Anyway I've got to go now... its late and I have to cook. Part of my new year plan for my blog is to introduce more and more mini fans from Brunei...until then ......later all...

MINI NEW MAGZ

This new magz is out,so for all those mini fan out there grab it now. Its very useful for us as it actually explains how you look after your lil big toy. I was so excited to see this magazine. For this first issue it shows how to maintain or rebuild your mini.This new mag is different from all other mini magz known to me as it is purely mechanical rather than being a fashion show of minis...I was quite chuffed to have the first issue as the first topic is all about gearbox. It lays all the intruction out in a step-by-step manner in a language which is quite layman.

The beauty of the whole magazine was that the first topic was all about gearboxes i.e. the components, how it works and how to rebuild it and this theme then carried on to the second topic which shows you how to identify your engine type.. I'd say this is very useful for any mini lover or any potential mini buyer as they can than ensure that they are getting a mini with the type of engine that they want or for those buyers- they are actually paying for the engine specified (there has been cases where dealers have tried to fob off a mini to a buyer by lying about the CC of the mini that they are about the buy). The magazine also has a must-read advice column which has quite a good range of advice and tips on how to keep your mini in tiptop shape. So if you come across it in the newsstands, I urge you...don't even think about it...just get it!....and No...I'm not being paid by the magazine for this glowing review!!!!

In my previous post, I introduced you guys to the No. 1 mini fan in Brunei. Now, let me introduce you to his brother a.k.a the mini doctor. Like his brother, he has inherited a fascnination for minis and I can vouch that he knows the insides and outs about minis. He IS the man you go to if you have problem with your minis. His name is Mr. ATTA MOHAMMED (not Mohammed Atta).....and dont worry he's not as dangerous as the infamous 9/11 bomber Mohammed Atta. He is a man of few words but I reckon he doesn't really need to talk a lot as he just gets on with what he does best...and he IS the best in what he does!!!...Currently he's doing a mini roundnose wagon project. It's still undergoing body surgery at the moment,but i bet you it's going to look awesome.

MINI No.1 FAN IN BRUNEI

It's been a while now since i updated my blog. This time around, i would like to talk about a chap well known to the mini circle in Brunei.He is unique and sets a standard to all hard core mini fans. One can aptly describe him as a man who loves minis as much as loving his wife and kids,hahahaha. He bought his first mini at the age of 13,which his dad didn't approved of, after all- which parents in their right mind would allow a 13year old own a car of their own- even if it is only a wee mini. This illustrious man is Mr. NAJIB MOHAMAD a.k.a 'NAJIB MINI'. His nickname obviously is self- explanatory to wholly describe him.

Thats him in the pic with his pride and joy- a 94 white mini mayfair 998auto. Its the car he uses everyday, and its the best mini around. According to Mr Najib Mini, this is maybe the tenth mini he has owned...and along with his beloved mini, he has 2 bog standard cars for the household.

I would just like to confer the title 'NO. 1 MINI FAN IN BRUNEI' to him. To Mr Najib Mini, all I can say is 'I salute you'.

Recently,I wrote about how versatile a mini can be.Dont let the small size deceive you into thinking that there's a limit to one can do to a mini.A mini is not merely a car.here are some other ways that one can use a mini (and not just for transport)

This is what I myself call a 'MIGGY' i.e. a golf mini buggy.Obviously,this would come in usefull if you're a golfer.The only problem being that you'll need to bring an umbrella along with you at all times in case it rains,or other suggestion would be to have easily detachable cover similar to the cover one might find for a golf bag...

4WD

Now this is one whole thing diffrent,its taller tougher but slower,I'd use this to go to Miri,siuk ni kai main di pantai...

I realised that my blog is one of the most f### up blog ever....hahahaha,but honestly i dont care,coz all i wanted to do here is to share my passion about minis.I have been telling and showing the world my collections of classic minis,from the most basic ones ive got to the fully pimp out mini...since i think my blog is totally f### up so why shud i go for the real thing only,its playing time now,oh ya...i think i also should share my other type of mini collections....well here are some pics that everyone can enjoy,
This is my first mini ever and it is literaly mini coz its is small,no engine no colour,but its my first thats why i still keep it.
And this is the best mini in my other collections,can you tell its not real...hahahaha
This is a woody van,this is quite rare in brunei,i know a friend who own the same model in brunei...

Now this is the ultimate mini for me,u cant find this in brunei at all as you will need a business permit to own it and it cannot be use as private vehicle...but trust me i will have one in brunei one day...

And offcourse all these are just my dream collection,i know i have it now but in a very small scale,like i said...one day one day one day.....and trust me one day one day one day....enough oredi mate....

MINI ZEEMAX PROJECT

Haluuu...here are some pics of my zeemax mini,I bought this kit a long time ago with the intention of putting it on my red mini sprite in UK,unfortunatelyI didnt have the time to do it,luckily my good old mate HJ JAAFAR JOHARI a.k.a JAYJAY....volunteered to ship it back to Brunei with the rest of his stuff after finishing his masters degree last year, so thanks tuan haji jj.The first thing I did on my holiday in Brunei was start my zeemax mini project. i started by looking for a garage that was willing to take on my project...ZEEMAX MINI...,after two days scouring around Brunei I managed to find a garage that agreed to do it at a reasonable price, in all it took about a week to complete. I was quite happy with the garage's workmanship, they did my zeemax mini well. the only thing left to do is to get a new sets of wheels for it. Im thinking in the lines of five spokes chrome wheel . i am also toying with the idea of changing the colour of the car to a beautiful gleaming white.

i think i can confidently say that this is the best looking modified mini in Brunei,modesty permitting ,hahahaha, Why do I think this? its claim to fame would be that it is the only zeemax kitted mini in Brunei,well i know there are some mini owners who claim they have a zeemax kitted mini but for true mini nutties out there will know clearly a zeemax to a zeemax-me-not. well, enough dissing....enjoy the pics....

MINI HALF DONE PROJECT

Hello everyone,i know its been a while since i last updated my mini blog. Life has just been hectic. i have recently returned from my 8 weeks holiday in Brunei, yup...my hols was that long. i didnt waste any time back home though. As planned, i spent most of my time haunting the workshop supervising the restoration project of my white rover mini. i wish i could show you the pictures of how messed up the mini was at the very beginning. i took all these nice pictures on my camera phone but technology decided not to cooperate with me on that day and i ended up with no pictures whatsoever....arggghhhh....i am still absolutely gutted about that. sometimes, nothing beats old fashioned technology such as a bog standard camera that you can actually ensure that pictures would've been taken when one presses the button (provided that you've actually put film in the camera, of course!). But rest assured, as you can see, pictures of the finished product is available for your viewing pleasure.

The project started with the cumbersome job of towing the mini into the workshop for a paint job. This took about 3 and a half weeks to get completed. It wasn't a case of simply splashing on a dash of paint. The body of the mini was so battered and bruised that the body surface required a lot of TLC in filling up and straightening. This was done to my exacting explaination on how i envisioned (and wanted) the end result of the paint job to be. thankfully, once the body surface had been addressed, it didnt take long for the undercoat and the painting and all the finishing to be completed. the paintwork wasnt perfect but i was happy with the end result. this whole thing set me back around BND$850.

Then i had to tow the mini to another garage to have the engine installed. this in itself was a time consuming phase of the project. the engine that i acquired was a 1.3 auto which didntcome with the inner driveshaft. lemme just remind you guys that the mini i bought was a mere shell of a car only with no engine,interior or whatsoever. the only thing it had was a floor!!!! to get all the stuff i needed for this project, i had to go to miri. i ended up going to miri almost every week that i was in Brunei. thankfully my mini headed cuz Ahmad Izzat was there to drive me around in miri and with his help and excellent bargaining skills i managed to locate and buy an engine along with some of the other stuff needed for half of the interior.....pheww.....all in all, those trips cost a bomb as well!

once the engine was installed, i was raring to have a go at mypet project. however, i then found out the braking system of my mini project was totally useless. being an old car (ehem....old shell would be a more appropriate description) i had to change the entire brakes system. This ended up costing me $500. By the time the braking system was finally fixed, it was time for me to say farewell to it as i had to return to UK. after 6 long, hard, stressful weeks the car was sort of completed-ish. what i mean by this is that i managed to finished the exterior and the mini which started out as a hunk of metal can actually be driven around in instead of being towed and is able to brake as a car should. but i still have a lot of plans for this pet project of mine such as the wiring,and interior,but that will have to wait until i next get back home. however, i am halfway in creating a mini that i wanted that shell to be........a white rover mini cooper.

OK.....here are some of the pics of my latest project,my white rover mini cooper. to all you mini enthiusiast out there, i will be truthful, the project had its good and bad moments and i will not deny it but when i look at what i created, it has been worth it. but i will truthfully say that this project has also been a lesson to me...NEVER TO RESTORE A CLASSIC CAR AGAIN...

MINI CLUB IN PAPER

Hello my mini chums,
as you all may have realised,our Brunei Mini Club made an appearance in borneo bulletin a few weeks ago. I'm especially glad that my 'lil green monster' was in the picture,our mentor Mr. Najib Mohammad was not a happy chappy that day as my mini was more popular than his own.....hahahahah.

He called me later that day to tell me that my car had received more attention than his- i told him that it comes hand in hand with owning a nice car....hahahahahah,as you can see from the picture above a mini moke was also there,and i think that it is the only mini moke in brunei which is road legal,i wish that it was mine.....

it makes me happy that our mini club in Brunei is getting the recognition from Brunei media that it righty deserves, lets just hope our club will prosper and will become properly established. My cuzz told me that the convoy was joined up by several more minis making it a good turnout to meet the old and new people in the mini circuit.

MINI STUFFS I BOUGHT

hello me mini mad chums,
As you all know i recently acquired a classic mini as my next project. i wanted to make this mini look like the original rover mini cooper so i've been buying bits and pieces of stuff all this time. it runs out, i've saved a lot in the long run. now lets just hope that i have enough dosh to start the whole thing as soon as possible,- the sad reality is, to make the perfect mini, you need the cha-ching to make it come true......

Now this was among the first thing that i bought, wing badges- like i said i wanted cooper laurel wing badges on front and rear,and as this mini cooper is goin to be finished in white, i also need to have the cooper laurel logo in black.

The second thing that I got was the standard arches with side strips, this caused a bit of trouble for me due to delivery failure (crap service of a certain courier service) . i finally had to drive down to loughboro to pick this thing up from the depot, luckily me cuzz was there to keep me company for this little road trip,it was fun though.

Thirdly, a pair of rear light cluster mk4 onwards,it took me a while to get these,it was a case of trying to decide which one i wanted and whether or not i got get it at the best possible price, finally got it- a complete rear light cluster with reverse light.

Lastly,stripes- i know i can easily get this in brunei, but then i just wanted to make sure that i have it with me,yeeeeeha. Now that i have all that i need for my new project (i hope)...well not really all but most of it... all i need to do now is to repaint the car n stick an engine in it,like i said lets just hope i'll have enough dosh to complete all this....sooner rather than later.

hello again,recently i bought another classic mini in Brunei,its a mk3 austin mini i'm told,not so sure yet coz i havent check the logbook and its in green with full service history.No engine though,but nevermind coz i want it to be auto,hmmmm....as usual.Im planing to convert it to auto mk7 rover cooper in white,now since its mk3 austin mini, it doesnt have reverse light,so i need a pair of mk4 rear cluster light which have a reverse light,so far i've bought a complete set of standard arches with side strip,a pair of bonnet stripes with john cooper signiture and a cooper laurel badge,i have a set of four of those minilite wheels back home,it was supposedly for my past mini project which my cousin took over and fit some other wheel in it,basically i want it to looklike the original rover mini cooper,anyway next time im in Brunei ill be busy with my new project,here are some picture i took from my supplier's website which i want my newly bought mini to look like.

As a small club,we only do gathering once in a while,including me there are three of us who goes out in a mini convoy for almost everyday or night,because I live in the uk,i didnt get to join all those big convoys,so whenever im in brunei we will have our own little gathering,our leader Mr. Najib Mohammad is our super mini headed friend,you can trust him in doing all those mini fixing stuff you can think of,from engine modification to bodyworks,he owns five minis including the one and only mini turbo era in Brunei,then a mini mayfair auto,mini 1000auto,mini convertible and a mini clubman estate,how lucky.Together we both run this thing to help brunei mini,he do the fixing and i do the spare parts ordering.

Then theres me,since I live in the UK,Im in charge in spareparts orders,from tiny bits to all the big ones like body shell and all that,but remember to in the money first before you do so,i own two minis so far,a red auto mini sprite which is in UK,and another auto mini mayfair which is the one in green,I love them both as equal though,now you may notice that both my minis are automatic,thats because i feel comfortable driving auto minis then manual,its not because i cant drive manual,but im thinking of getting a manual mini as my next project.

Then theres my cousin,Ahmad Izzat Zaimi his name is,another mini nutty known to me,he currently own a mini 1000 mk3,its chrome silver n have no backseats,hahaha,but its still looks nice with its bodykit,surely its not an old banger,i love his wheels the most though,its a japanese wheel but it fits right into his mini,well he still got plans to buy another one though,so hopefully its gona be soon.He takes care of my mini when im not around,and thankfull for that.

Lastly but not the least is my other mini fan cousin MD Dzairenny Muslim,he's a lawlyer in bsp,he owns another mini 1000 which unfortunately i dont have the picture to show,hope he doesnt mind.
